Uneven tire wear is often the first sign that something isn’t right with your vehicle. Common causes include improper inflation, wheel misalignment, worn suspension components, or skipped tire rotations.
Overinflated tires tend to wear down the center tread, while underinflated tires wear more along the edges. Alignment issues often cause wear on one side of the tire, and suspension problems can create cupping or scalloped tread patterns.
Ignoring uneven wear shortens tire life and can lead to reduced traction, vibration, and poor handling. It also increases the likelihood of premature tire replacement.
Routine inspections allow technicians to identify wear patterns early and correct the underlying issue before it becomes costly.
Uneven wear often connects to alignment issues, tire pressure problems, or missed rotations discussed in other Tire X Auto Care Tips.
